“But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God” (1 Corinthians 2:9-10 NKJV).
The Holy Spirit performs a revelatory function in the life of believers. He reveals to us the mystery of the Godhead by helping us to understand “all the riches that come from a complete understanding of Christ” as the mystery of God, in whom is hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:2-3, GW). Jesus is the treasury of God’s blessing to humankind, both spiritual and temporal. He is the treasury of wisdom and knowledge. Knowing Christ is the ultimate knowledge that is available for human beings on earth. Apart from the obvious reason that knowing Christ is the gateway to knowing God, it is also the gateway to knowing ourselves. Our true identity can only be defined in reference to Him. “For in Him we live and move and have our being …‘For we are also His offspring” (Acts 17:28, NKJV). He became as us so we can become as He is. “Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people” (Hebrews 2:17 NKJV). He took up our flesh so we can become partakers of His divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). We can never fully know ourselves until we know it in the context of our relationship with Christ. He is the highest expression of who we can become as humans. Therefore the Bible testifies that we “are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power” (Colossians 2:10 NKJV). This revelation of our true identity in Christ is one of the major things the Holy Spirit accomplishes for us and in us. In spite of all we have come to know about the human nature and its capabilities, eye has still “not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man” the depth of the mystery that is yet to be revealed about us. Who we are in Christ remains a mystery yet to be unravelled.
Holy Spirit reveals God’s deep things – know Christ, yourself, every spiritual blessing. Tap into mysteries, bring kingdom reality to earth in Jesus’ name.
The Holy Spirit reveals to us “the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” The Scripture described these things that the Lord has prepared for those who love Him in different ways. First, they are described as “every spiritual blessing.” Paul explained in Ephesians, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3 NKJV). God has blessed “us,” implying the believers in Christ, with every spiritual blessing in Christ. The phrase “every spiritual blessing” means every imaginable blessing in time and eternity which Christ has purchased for us in redemption and now kept in the custody of the Holy Spirit to distribute to the believers according to each person’s needs and responsibilities. Speaking on the revelatory role of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer our Lord declared, “He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you” (John 16:14-15, NKJV). Pause for a moment and imagine what can be included in the “all things that the Father has.” The clear implication of this is that the Holy Spirit has inexhaustible store of resources to draw from in meeting the needs of believers on earth –those “things that pertain to life and godliness” (2 Peter 1:3). Paul clearly understood the wealth of this eternal resource of God; therefore he prayed for the Philippians in appreciation of the gifts they sent to him saying, “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4. 19, NKJV). How do you quantify the riches of God’s glory? It is beyond human comprehension, yet the Holy Spirit is willing to impart understanding to anyone who is hungry. All of human needs spiritual and material are provided for in glory.

The Holy Spirit has unhindered access into the mystery of God “for the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.” When will the church be ready to receive this depth of revelations? Our Lord made it clear that it is within the purview of God’s will that we shall know “the mystery of the kingdom of God” (Mark 4:11). Our hunger and grasp of mysteries is our key to mastery in life. Paul was outstanding in his ministry because of his knowledge of the mystery of Christ (Ephesians 3:2-4). The church today must seek the face of God and receive revelation on the mystery of the kingdom of God and its implication in our world today. Understanding this kingdom dynamics is critical and urgent for the church’s survival and continuing relevance on earth. The Holy Spirit who searches all things and knows the deep things of God can help us understand how to preach the gospel of the kingdom and thus make the kingdom of God relevant in every sphere of our society. Bringing the kingdom reality into every sphere of life will make the influence of Christ to be felt both within and outside the church This is how God’s kingdom will come and His will be done on earth as it is done in heaven. Let your light therefore so shine as to give light to all those around you in Jesus name.
